Open to all graduates who have a passion for design, visual storytelling and creative technology.

Eligibility Criteria

Any Bachelor's Degree B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech, BCA, BBA or equivalent from a recognised university

Minimum 50% in Graduation SC/ST/OBC candidates receive 5% relaxation as per Gujarat norms

Creative Aptitude (Portfolio Optional) Submission of a creative portfolio is optional but strongly encouraged — it strengthens your application

No Age Restriction Working professionals, fresh graduates and career-changers are all welcome

Computer Literacy Preferred Basic computer skills required. No prior design/VFX experience necessary — we train from ground up

Do I need prior design or VFX experience to join?

No prior experience is required at all. The program is designed to take you from complete beginner to industry-ready professional. We start from the very basics of design theory and software, gradually advancing to professional-level VFX and 3D. A passion for creativity is the only prerequisite.

Which software will I learn and will I have access to them?

You will learn 12+ industry-standard tools including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Autodesk Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D, Nuke, DaVinci Resolve, Figma and CorelDRAW. SPU's design lab provides licensed access to all software during studio hours. Students also get guidance on obtaining student licences for home use.

Is this a degree or a diploma? Will it be recognised?

This is a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) awarded by Sankalchand Patel University, a NAAC-accredited university. PG Diplomas are widely recognised by the creative industry as professional credentials. Unlike a regular 2-year PG course, this 1-year intensive program is specifically designed for immediate industry entry.

Is hostel accommodation available for outstation students?

Yes. SPU has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls on the main campus. Outstation students are encouraged to apply for hostel accommodation simultaneously with their program application, as hostel seats are also limited. The campus also has a cafeteria, sports facilities, and a 24×7 library.

Can working professionals join? Is there a part-time option?

The program is currently offered as a full-time, campus-based course. However, working professionals who can commit to the full-time schedule are very welcome — in fact, the real-world experience they bring enriches the classroom.
