It was proud moment for Sankalchand Patel University Visnagar to collaborate and organize two days international symposium on “Nanotechnology, Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Therapy in Implantology and Dentistry” on 13th and 14th December 2022. The event was organized by NARSINHBHAI PATEL DENTAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL, SPU, VISNAGAR in association with Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission with support of UT Health Faculty of dentistry USA and SIBAR Institute of Dental Sciences AP.
In this symposia three international speakers, Dr.Ptere Loomer, dean of faculty of dentistry, University of Texas , Research dean Dr.Brij singh and International dental education program director Dr.Purnima Menasinkai delivered their lectures and had great interactions with the students and faculties. They expressed that scope of the collaboration between the University of Texas health, faculty of dentistry and Sankalchand Patel university will help in upgrading the academics research and patient management of both of both universities.
The both had signed MoU for student and faculty exchange programs and to carry our various activities under the leadership of Shri. Prakash Patel President of SPU. He said that Narsinhbhai Patel dental college infrastructure and equipment’s will be at par with international standers. Dr.D. J Shah Provost welcomed the guest and briefed about the collaborative and multidisciplinary work which can be done in stem cells research. He said that our university has both medical and technology institutes which can help in such kind of research. The dean of faculty of dentistry Dr.Vilas Patel spoke and encouraged the participants to take active part in research of nanotechnology and stem cells and promised to provide all the support for the same.
There were more than 150 offline and 15 online registrations, many students had done the paper and poster presentations during the symposia. Apart from this there were very known speakers from SIBAR institute of dental science, Andhra Pradesh and Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital, Pune.
The symposia was organized by Dr. Anil Managutti, dean external affairs, SPU , Dr.Hiral Parikh, HOD, Dept. of Periodontics NPDCH , Dr.Sareen Dusseja CDE coordinator of NPDCH and team of faculties and interns. Our special thanks to Miss Gargi Jain, IAS officer, mission director, GSBTM, Dr. Anusuya Badalkar, Joint Director, Human resource Department, GSBTM and Dr L.Krishna Prasad, dean, SIBAR institute of dental sciences for their contribution to make this event successful.
