Laid the foundation stone of Nootan Sarva Vidhyalayawas
The foundation stone of Nootan Sarva Vidhyalayawas laid on the three basic Principles of -Reading, Writing & Arithmetic. The immortal martyr Shri. Govindrav Uttarnkar, ensured the opening of “The New English School” which was renamed as a “Nootan Sarva Vidhyalaya” and had its first principal “Shri. Motibhai Natthubhai Patel”. The martyrdom of Shri. Govindrav nourished the sibling with fervor of patriotism. The warmth and financial aid by late Shri. Sankalchandbhai Patel seeded the floundering institute with new energy and zeal.

Approval of Rs. 75,000 as a grant for institute
The untiring efforts from Shri. Sankalchandbhai Patel and Shri. Shivabhai Patel led to the approval of Rs. 75,000 rupees as a major grant from the government for the institute. Additionally, a donation of Rs. 75,000 was given by Shri. Chinubhai Naranbhai. Soon enough, the institute became a hub for educational, cultural and sports activities and the number of students getting enrolled kept increasing by leaps & bounds.

Stalwarts served the institute as principals
Shri. Ashwinbhai D. Patel, Shri. Kalyanbhai G. Patel and Shri Babaldas Chaudhari served the institute as principals from 1954 till 1976. Subsequently Shri. M. S. Patel, the alumni of the institute, joined as principal and higher secondary standards were added in all three streams-Science, Commerce and Arts. In the science stream, the labs for the Chemistry, Physics and Biology were added along with other facilities of electric workshop, library & typewriting class too. Highly generous donations came in from Shri. Shivabhai P. Patel, Shri. Prabhudasbhai G. Patel, late minister Shri. Ramchandrabhai Amin, Shri. Gopalbhai P. Patel & Shri. Pitambar C. Patel. Significant contributions also came in from late Shri Bholabhai C Patel and Shri Mulchandbhai L Patel.

Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering was established
Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering was established with an objective of imparting higher technical education to the youth of North Gujarat.

Swami Sachchidanand Polytechnic College was started
Swami Sachchidanand Polytechnic College, approved by AICTE and affiliated with Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad was started.

MBA/MCA/Science and Commerce college programs were initiated
In order to equip the students with management and computer aspects, MBA & MCA programs were initiated. Similarly, Smt. S. S. Patel Nootan Science & Commerce College was established in June 2001 to impart knowledge in the emerging era of science.

Nootan College of Pharmacy was established
Nootan College of Pharmacy was started to meet the research needs of pharmaceutical industry in Gujarat. Over the years, the institute has earned a distinctive name for carrying out research-based projects.

Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College & Hospital was established
Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College & Hospital, approved by Dental Council of India (DCI), New Delhi and approved by Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat was started. The College is home to a number of ultra-modern laboratories for various fields – Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Conservative, General Pathology, Prosthodontics & Dental Material. It also has various types of museums and classrooms equipped with multimedia presentation facilities, an auditorium, along with a separate examination hall.

Nootan College of Nursing was established
Nootan College of Nursing, recognized by Gujarat Nursing Council, Indian Nursing Council was established.

Recognized as a statutory university under the Gujarat Private University Act
Under the leadership of Shri. Prakashbhai, Sankalchand Patel University (SPU) was recognized as a statutory university under the Gujarat Private University Act, 2016.The university has become one of the fastest growing universities in Gujarat, creating its own niche. It has been ranked among top 20 universities of Gujarat by Gujarat State Institutional Ranking Framework (GISRF)-2019. The courses offered by the faculty of SPU are rated highly by accreditation agencies, industry, business magazines and students. Nootan Medical College & Research Centre was started
Under the dynamic leadership of Shri. Prakashbhai Patel, the university started Nootan Medical College & Research Centre. The Nootan General Hospital was renovated and expanded to 300 beds with basic medical facilities to meet the medical needs of North Gujarat and nearby regions. Simultaneously various para-medical programs along with Nootan College of Nursing and Nootan College of Physiotherapy were added.

Becomes the only private university in North Gujarat with integrated campus
The SPU has become the only private university in North Gujarat having integrated campus that offers Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy Para Medical, Technical, Management, Computer Applications, Science and Commerce related faculty under one roof.

Designated Centre to fight COVID-19 established
A “Designated Centre to fight COVID-19 pandemic situation” has been established within the Nootan General Hospital. SPU also established the “Molecular Lab” for testing COVID-19 which has been approved by the Government of Gujarat and is NABL accredited.

Oxygen Plant, Plasma therapy Centre and ICU ambulance Provided
A 25nm3 and 13000ltr capacity oxygen plant, plasma therapy center and ICU ambulance on wheels were recently provided to Nootan Medical College and Research Center and Nootan General Hospital, Visnagar

Nootan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital

Nootan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, approved by ministry of Ayush, New Delhi and Government of Gujarat has been started to provide students with the necessary education and training to become qualified homeopaths. Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that uses natural remedies to treat illnesses and diseases. Homeopathy colleges provide students with the knowledge and skills to diagnose and treat patients using homeopathic remedies.
