Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) was established in 1952, by Shri. Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and a social entrepreneur. The aim was always to create a value based diversified education system for the students of North Gujarat.
The university was established on 9th May 2016 vide Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2016 and is spread across 84 acres of land. Today, the university is home to various institutes offering Medical, Paramedical, Technical, & Science Courses. The university also houses some of the most state-of-the-art infrastructure in North Gujarat.

Sankalchand Patel University’s history can be traced back to 1952 when Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) was established by Shri. Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and a social entrepreneur. The objective was to fulfill educational and socio-cultural needs of the people in North Gujarat. It was the collective vision of Shri. Sankalchand Patel and the Trust which helped Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) achieve the status of Sankalchand Patel University (SPU). At the university, value based diversified education was given prominence and delivered to the students in North Gujarat.
Since 2014, under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Chairman, Shri. Prakash Patel, the trust has effectively achieved its goal to fulfill educational needs in the area through the Nootan Education cluster of 2 schools and 14 colleges on two separate campuses. The Trust commenced its first educational activity with the setting-up of the Nootan High School in Visnagar.
Today, the trust successfully administers educational institutions right from primary schools to graduate and post graduate colleges and other professional courses including Ph.D. programs. The trust’s unswerving efforts towards the growth of education have earned its institutes many merits and a resilient name in the educational campaign of India.
Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal (NSVKM) was established in the year 1952 by Shri. Sankalchand Patel, a freedom fighter and a social entrepreneur, with the objective of working towards educational and socio-cultural needs of the people in North Gujarat. Shri. Sankaclchand Patel dedicated himself in the freedom movement from a young age with a strong desire to serve the people around him. He was a pioneer figure in initiating & nurturing many social organizations meant to serve the people and hence eminently was known as the ‘Vishwakarma’ of Visnagar. Always driven by philanthropic values in his heart, he instituted ‘Visnagar Taluka Labor Co-op Union’ and became its Founder Chairman. He had a principle of “Without cooperation there cannot be any development” and so initiated many public welfare activities like Tube Well Drilling, launching of the brand Sahakar Engine Oil, production of agricultural tools and supplying quality seeds for farming etc. which helped raise the standard of living of people of North Gujarat especially the farmers.

We are happy and proud to announce our ninth anniversary. Our roots are strong and deep. They go back to 1941 when my grandfather Late Shri. Sankalchand Patel started a school in the barren land where education was not accessible for children.
Today, three-quarters of a century later, we have become a leading educational institution in the Northern Gujarat region which has now become a University.
In fact, Sankalchand Patel University, a union of thirteen colleges of Nootan Sarva Vidyalaya Kelavani Mandal, Visnagar is growing faster than ever. Our thrust is to stand out by providing quality education and a bright future to the students.
