Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, celebrated International Women's Day on March 7, 2024, in collaboration with Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Women and Child Development Department, and the NSS of the university. A special program, supported by Ashirvad Foundation, featured a themed 'Walk for HER' rally. 2000+ staff and students collectively took over 50,00,000 steps, resulting in over 800 free mammography tests sponsored by Ashirvad Foundation.
The event was graced by prominent guests including MP of Mehsana Shardaben Patel, University President Prakashbhai Patel, Deputy Collector Devangbhai Rathod, Dahej Prohibition Officer Meghaben Goswami, and other dignitaries. They recognized the significant contributions of women and emphasized the importance of women's empowerment and social security.
Medals and certificates were awarded to women achievers and students to recognize their contributions. University Provost Dr. P. M. Udani emphasized empowering women through innovation and technology, urging them to become self-reliant.
MP Shardaben Patel shared information about various government schemes for women and encouraged them to benefit from these initiatives. Motivational speaker Nehalben Gadvi highlighted the resilience and empathy of women in Indian society, inspiring everyone present.
Over 800 female employees were honored for their contributions, showcasing the university's commitment to women's empowerment. University President Prakashbhai Patel expressed gratitude to the female staff for their role in the university's progress and development.
