We are proud to share that the students of Sankalchand Patel University took an active part in the Mega Concrete Raft Casting Drive held for continuous 72 hours at holy land of Vishwa Umiya Foundation, S G Highway, Ahmedabad during 15th - 17th September, 2025.
This large-scale engineering project provided our students with valuable hands-on experience in real-time construction practices, enhancing their technical knowledge and practical skills.
In an ambitious engineering feat, the foundation slab of the World Umiyadham Temple in Jaspur, Ahmedabad, will host India’s largest concrete raft. The foundation slab where the idol of Mata Umiya will be installed will contain 3,600 tons of cement and 4,400 tons of steel, forming a massive 8,57,000 cubic feet concrete raft. The pouring of this colossal raft is expected to be completed in just 72 hours, making history in India’s construction sector.
This large-scale operation is being closely monitored by our Degree & Diploma Civil engineering students to ensure quality control during the continuous 3-day work. Their enthusiastic participation reflects the university's commitment to industry-oriented education and the development of future-ready civil engineers.
Kudos to all the students and faculty members who contributed to this significant milestone !
