Sankalchand Patel University signs MoU with NITTTR, Bhopal to join hand for Centre of Excellence in Semiconductor ATMP/OSAT Unit and Centre of Excellence Siemens Industry 4.0

Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), Visnagar, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, a premier institution functioning as a Deemed-to-be University under the Distinct Category, established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. NITTTR, Bhopal, has pioneered capacity building in semiconductors and display manufacturing through its skilling centre on OSAT/ATMP technology, training manpower in assembly, testing, marking, and packaging. With India's semiconductor industry projected to require nearly 250,000-300,000 skilled professionals by 2027, the collaboration aims to address the critical talent gap across chip design, fabrication, quality control, and R&D. Under this MoU, a Centre of Excellence in Semiconductor ATMP/OSAT will equip students and professionals with advanced skills in semiconductor assembly, testing, and digital manufacturing systems. This initiative will strengthen India's semiconductor ecosystem and enhance employability in the sector. The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. Chandra Charu Tripathi, Director & Member-Secretary, Dr. P.K. Purohit, Professor & Dean International Affairs, and Dr. Nishith Dubey, Professor & Head, Extension Centre Ahmedabad from NITTTR, Bhopal. Representing SPU were Shri Prakashbhai Patel, President, Prof. (Dr.) Prafulkumar Udani, Provost, and Prof. (Dr.) Chetan Choudhary, Director - IQAC on 29 September 2025. Aligned with the Government of India's vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, this strategic partnership positions SPU as a regional leader in creating an industry-ready workforce for the semiconductor manufacturing sector in North Gujarat.
