“Rakshabandhan Celebration – 2026” Organized at Sankalchand Patel University

Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), Visnagar, successfully celebrated the sacred festival of Rakshabandhan on August 27, 2026, at the University Auditorium Hall. The event was jointly organized by the IKS Heritage & Culture Club and the Yoga & Wellness Club of SPU in collaboration with the sisters of Om Shanti Brahma Kumaris. The event featured a special session focusing on the "Scientific & Spiritual Importance of Rakshabandhan Festival." Shri Prakash Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University, graced the occasion with his presence. Distinguished keynote speaker B. K. Reshma Didi, Rajyoga Teacher at Brahma Kumaris, delivered an insightful and inspiring address on the scientific, spiritual, and cultural significance of the festival. She emphasized that Rakshabandhan is not merely a celebration of affection between brothers and sisters, but a sacred covenant bound to purity, spiritual strength, protection, respect, goodwill, and the nurture of human values. During the ceremony, the Brahma Kumari sisters ritualistically tied Rakhis to the present dignitaries, Directors, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty, staff members, and students. The Rakhi was highlighted as a symbol of protection, love, respect, responsibility, and mutual harmony, encouraging everyone to internalize Indian cultural values in daily life. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Deans, Institute Heads, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and a large number of students across various constituent colleges of Sankalchand Patel University. A joyful, harmonious, and spiritually uplifting atmosphere prevailed throughout the gathering. By celebrating traditional Indian festivals like Rakshabandhan, the University aims to preserve and promote the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), cultural traditions, and life values, while fostering unity, brotherhood, ethics, mutual respect, and spiritual well-being within the university community. The program concluded with heartiest gratitude extended to the IKS Heritage & Culture Club, the Yoga & Wellness Club, and the Brahma Kumari sisters for their efforts in making the event a resounding success.
