UHV CELL

About UHV Cell of SPU

As the twenty-first century unfolds, technological advancements have brought great comfort and convenience to human life. At the same time, they have also led to new challenges—stress and psychosomatic illnesses at the individual level, family conflicts, erosion of values, social unrest, ecological imbalance, and resource depletion. These issues highlight that technological progress alone cannot ensure a happy, prosperous, and meaningful life. There is an equal need to strengthen human values, ensuring harmony between technical skills and universal ethics.

With this vision, the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell at Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), under the Center for Indian Knowledge System, has been established to nurture a holistic worldview among students, faculty, staff, and the wider community. The Cell strives to create an environment where individuals learn to live in harmony with themselves, their families, society, and nature.

Objectives of UHV Cell

  • To promote right understanding (what to do) through value education.
  • To develop right skills (how to do) through technical education.
  • To encourage the practice of right living during education and beyond.
  • To cultivate relationships based on mutual happiness and mutual prosperity.
  • To build an eco-friendly, compassionate, and inclusive campus culture.

Key Initiatives at SPU

  • AICTE-approved Faculty Development Programs on Universal Human Values.
  • Student Induction Program (PRARAMBH) with UHV sessions.

Future Plans

  • Conducting Leadership Development Programs for institutional heads and management.
  • Expanding opportunities for staff and faculty to undergo UHV training.
  • Organizing workshops with schools, social organizations, and communities to extend value education beyond the university.
  • Special initiatives such as a UHV workshop at Mehsana Jail in collaboration with AICTE-NCCIP.

Through these initiatives, the UHV Cell at SPU seeks to empower individuals as responsible citizens and positive change-makers, ensuring harmony between technological progress and universal human values for the well-being of all.

Message from the President

At Sankalchand Patel University, we firmly believe that true education goes beyond imparting technical knowledge and professional skills. While technology has advanced rapidly in recent decades, we also witness increasing stress, social unrest, and environmental challenges. This makes it clear that progress is incomplete without the guiding light of universal human values.
The establishment of the Universal Human Values (UHV) Cell at SPU is a step towards fulfilling this vision. It is our endeavor to create an educational environment where empathy, compassion, respect, honesty, and responsibility are nurtured alongside academic excellence. By fostering such values, we not only prepare our students for successful careers but also shape them into responsible citizens and positive contributors to society.
SPU remains committed to providing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage in value-based education, community initiatives, and holistic development programs. It is my firm conviction that by integrating values with knowledge, our university will continue to produce individuals who live in harmony with themselves, their families, society, and nature.
Let us all strive together to make Sankalchand Patel University a center of value-driven excellence, where education truly becomes a means to achieve both personal fulfillment and social prosperity.
