Unique Series & Style of Celebrations of Independence Day Events at Sankalchand Patel University

Supporting the National Campaign by Government of India’s ongoing celebrations of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” (AKAM), a Campaign “Har Ghar Tiranga” is launched to encourage the citizens to hoist the National Flag in their houses. Taking this to the heart and spirit of Patriotism and Nationalism, SPU has crafted 1000 flags through the series of workshops like seed collection from our botanical garden and processing their separation and drying. This was followed by art paper cutting and imbibing with the seeds. Our students and faculty members have actively participated in the workshop of making the Tricolor.

The unique theme of these workshop is to spread the message of being a socially responsible university and honoring the pride of the tricolor for proper making, hoisting and disposing…. Tricolor is made with art paper with seeds of flowering plant imbibed within. The flags shall be respectfully disposed after the purpose into an earthen pot or in a pit in the ground. The material will degrade and the seeds will germinate within 2-6 weeks to a flowering sapling.

On August 09, 2022, Shri Prakash Bhai Patel, the Hon’ble President of Sankalchand Patel University along with the Dignitaries will be distributing the Crafted National Flags by the University to all the Staff & Students to hoist the tricolor at their houses from 13 to 17 August 2022. Also on the National Auspicious Day of India’s Independence i.e. on 15th August, we have planned series of Events like March past of 75 feet Indian flag by our NSS students, Unveiling of Indian Flag at the height of 132 feet as mark of respect, and clicking a selfie with the tricolor to share it with SPU for onward display a collage art of the same on the Independence Day and share it proudly to emphasize our whole hearted support to the Government of India in the celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga and Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
