Sankalchand Patel University Organized 1008 National Flag Distribution Ceremony to gearing up the National Event “Har Ghar Tiranga”

India is gearing up to celebrate its 76th Independence Day on August 15, 2022 and we are inching closer to the big day, the spirit of patriotism is echoing around. As a part of celebration of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” the nation is gearing up for the National Event “Har Ghar Tiranga” wherein the citizens will be hoisting the Tricolor, the National Flag, on their houses with their family.

Supporting the move… SPU has crafted 1008 flags with the family members through the series of workshops with prime contribution of Smt. S.B. Patel Institute of Business Management, Smt. S. S. Patel Nootan Science and Commerce College, the NSS unit and IQAC team of the University. Being a socially responsible university and honoring the pride of the tricolor for proper making, hoisting and disposing with dignity…. Tricolor is made with art paper with seeds of flowering plant imbibed within. The flags shall be respectfully disposed after the purpose into an earthen pot or in a pit in the ground as per the flag code. The material will degrade and the seeds will germinate within 2-6 weeks to a flowering sapling.

Today the flags were distributed to the students and the faculty members of the university and we are encouraged to hoist the tricolor at their houses and share their pictures while hosting the flags with university as mark of respect and to emphasize our whole hearted support to the Government of India in the celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga and Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Also on 15th August, we are having series of events such as march past of 75 feet Indian flag by our NSS students, Unveiling of 132 feet of Indian Flag, opening of new office of national and international admission cell, Inauguration of indoor- Hall Badminton court and Opening of national Girls Kabbadi camp.
