A workshop on ‘Storytelling: An Art of Assertive Communication in Business’ was organized by the Faculty of Management Studies at Sankalchand Patel University to develop the skills of the students. The famous actor, director and writer Abhinaya Banker taught the students the art of story telling as an expert in this workshop. Abhinay banker has over 15 years of experience in the theater and film industry. And he has worked with famous directors like Soumya Joshi, Abhishek Jain, Nandita Das and famous actor Nawajuddin Siddiqui.
In today's new techniques are being introduced in marketing and branding. There is a growing trend today to introduce a product or an idea through a story. ‘Story-telling’ is the process of telling a central idea through a story, rather than listing the facts when communicating with customers. Storytelling helps businesses stand out from their competitors. Business stories help big brands connect with customers more deeply and meaningfully.
Abhinay Banker said that every story is connected to someone with an emotion. If we put the product or brand in front of the customers through story, they will better connect with the product, brand or company. Because whenever they buy a product they remember the story and the feeling they felt with the story. This is how we can create brand loyal customers. Abhinay Banker taught MBA, I-MBA and BBA students practical storytelling through activities based learning and at the end of the workshop taught each student to stand on the stage and tell a story. Total 156 students from the Faculty of Management Studies participated in the workshop. Sankalchand Patel University has been running MBA department for more than twenty years and courses like MBA, I-MBA and BBA are run by the university.
