An Awareness Program on Women’s Self Defense was organized for all the students of Shri C J Patel College of Computer Studies affiliated to Sankalchand Patel University

Self-defense not only allows girls to defend themselves against physical attacks, but it also gives them various benefits in daily life. On the eve of International Women's Day, an Awareness and Training Program on Women's Self Defense was organized for all the students of Shri C J Patel College of Computer Studies affiliated to Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar on 8th March, 2022. The main objective of the program was to create awareness and teach basic self defense skills to the students. Mr. Yogesh Vishwakarma (Black Belt 4th DAN, Senior Coach of Wado Kai Karate-Do Federation of India) gave information about the importance of self defense. He later explained simple techniques for managing the circumstances of the attack and taught a few exercises to stay fit. The students remained active throughout the program. Students are given various tips on how to avoid and self-defense when a potential attacker is using objects or attacking the attacker's soft spots when they are a victim of physical abuse, violence, crime, etc. The students got a chance to watch a live demo of various self defense techniques demonstrated by the trainer and fellow cadets, after which the students were also trained by the trainer. Dr. Abhijeetsingh Jadeja, Principal in-charge of BCA College and Prof. Chaitali Patel, Program Coordinator, Prof. Jignasa Patel and Prof. Kajal Patel contributed to make the entire program a success.
