Department of Public Health Dentistry, Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College & Hospital, Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, Gujarat had conducted Workshop on No Tobacco Week 2023 in collaboration with Mehsana District Tobacco Control Cell and Gayatri Chetana Kendra, Valam. The theme for this year was “We Need Food, Not Tobacco”. We have arranged slogan competition and Essay competition on theme for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College and Hospital, SPU, Visnagar. Oral health screening, oral cancer screening camp, street play for awareness regarding second hand smoke and pledge ceremony to stop the use of tobacco for people of Valam Village was conducted. Lecture was taken by Dr. Vinodkumar Patel (EMO and District Consultant of Tobacco Control Cell, Mehsana) on ill effects of tobacco for non-teaching staff of SPU. Lecture and demonstration of smokerlyzer was taken by Dr. Rahul Patel for interns and PG students of NPDCH.
