Sankalchand Patel University (SPU), Visnagar, successfully concluded a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Core Teaching Skills” held from 21st to 25th July 2025. The programme was jointly organized by the university’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, at the university campus.
The primary objective of the FDP was to enhance modern pedagogical skills among faculty members and promote effective teaching-learning practices. Faculty members from various institutes and departments under SPU enthusiastically participated in the programme.
Throughout the FDP, expert sessions, interactive hands-on workshops, and practical demonstrations were conducted by Prof. (Dr.) Nishith Dubey and Prof. (Dr.) M. A. Rizvi from NITTTR, Bhopal. The sessions provided in-depth guidance on innovative teaching methodologies and practical applications for classroom effectiveness.
Key topics covered during the programme included innovative pedagogy, effective communication skills, classroom management techniques, and integration of technology in education. Participants actively engaged in all sessions, enriching their knowledge and pedagogical competencies.
The valedictory session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Prafullkumar Udani (Provost, SPU) and Prof. (Dr.) H. N. Shah (Director of Technical Programmes, SPU), who delivered inspiring addresses. They emphasized the significance of continuous professional development in higher education as a cornerstone for quality education and societal progress. Faculty members were encouraged to strive for innovation and ongoing knowledge enhancement.
The FDP concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Tulsidas Nakrani from Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering. He expressed sincere gratitude to the organizing team, the expert speakers for their invaluable guidance, and the participants for their warm cooperation and active involvement.
