Department of Periodontology, Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College and Hospital, Sankalchand Patel University Visnagar conducted a week long Oral Hygiene awareness event encompassing numerous competitions and activities to sensitize patients, faculty members, students and administrative staff members against plastic use by exchanging used plastic toothbrushes with ecofriendly bamboo brushes. A lecture on “Herbs and Gums” was conducted for undergraduate students. Competitions like pot painting, essay writing and reel making were organised and medicinal plant distribution along with oral hygiene kit distribution was done. An EcoZone was created by planting plants used for treating periodontal diseases under “Green Initiative- Best practices” of Sankalchand Patel University.
