Every year from 1st August to 7th August is celebrated as 'World Breastfeeding Week'. Breastfeeding is an invaluable gift from God to a woman. World “Breastfeeding Week” was celebrated by the Nootan College of Nursing affiliated to Sankalchand Patel University at different places like Kansa and Kherwa villages of Mehsana district as well as at the new General Hospital,Visnagar from 3rd to 4th August to create awareness among the people about healthy breastfeeding practices. The students also demonstrated drama, video and Kangaroo Mother Care technique and informed the villagers and Anganwadi sisters about healthy breastfeeding.
