On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the students of Nootan College of Nursing, a constituent of Sankalchand Patel University, organized a health awareness program at the Primary Health Center, Dhanpura. B.Sc. Nursing Semester 2 students performed a skit aimed at educating the community on the harmful effects of tobacco. The event was held on May 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
Following the skit, students delivered an informative session on the adverse effects of tobacco consumption, including its impact on personal health and family well-being.
The theme of World No Tobacco Day 2025 is:
"Protecting children from tobacco industry interference."
This theme focuses on the importance of education, awareness, and accessibility in the fight against tobacco, and emphasizes building a world where tobacco is completely eliminated from our country.
The program was organized by the Community Health Nursing Department of Nootan College of Nursing and proved to be highly impactful for all attendees.
Special guests included the Medical Officer and staff of the Primary Health Center, Dhanpura, along with faculty members of Nootan College of Nursing – Prof. Devi, Asst. Prof. Diya, and Tutor Prachi Madam.
The event was coordinated by the Nursing Foundation Department, under the leadership of Prof. Devi, Asst. Prof. Diya, and Tutor Prachi Madam.
Dr. Sivasubramaniam, Principal of the college, expressed gratitude towards Prof. Devi, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department.
On this occasion, Shri Prakashbhai Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University, Dr. P. M. Udani, Provost, Dr. Sivasubramaniam, Principal, Dr. Mahalakshmi, Vice Principal, and all faculty members congratulated the students for their enthusiastic participation.
