The orientation programme for the newly admitted MDS students of batch 2022-23 was organised by the PG Coordinator Committee, NPDCH on 02nd January 2023 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Dr. Ajay Kubavat and Dr. Hiral Parikh were the organizing Chairpersons and Dr. Ankur Singh and Dr. Priya Patel were the members of the organizing committee. The Event was conducted in the auditorium. Shri Prakash Patel, honourable President (SPU) and Dr. D. J. Shah Honourable Provost (SPU) were the Chief Patrons and Guests. Dr. Vilas Patel Dean (NPDCH) was the Patron of the event. A total of 33 MDS students participated along with 24 HODs and PG Guides of various Dental Departments. Obeying the convention of the institution, the programme commenced with the University’s anthem. The commencement of the event was marked by the cordial welcome speech presented by the PG Coordinators Dr. Ajay Kubavat and Dr. Hiral Parik. Dean of the college, Dr. Vilas Patel gave a ceremonial address and familiarized the students of the rules and regulations of the institution. She also highlighted the amenities available in the college for the students to utilize. The Hon’ble Provost, Sankalchand Patel University, Dr. D. J. Shah in his ceremonial address guided the students concerning the academics, research. He suggested them to focus on building their academic, research and clinical skills, which would help them to face the world in future. The Hon’ble President, Sankalchand Patel University, Shri Prakash Patel graced the programme with his Presidential address to the freshmen. He highlighted the key achievements of the University and the Dental College along with the future plans. Following that, the newly joined first year MDS students took turns to introduce themselves. All the first year PG students were given a pen each with their names printed and sweets as a token of remembrance. The event ended with a vote of Thanks by Dr. Ankur Singh, and the announcement of the forthcoming four days research orientation program “Prakharta Manthan” to be organized soon as a continuation of today’s orientation program.
