Sankalchand Patel University Inaugurates Recharge Wells and Mega tree plantation to Environmental Awareness

Inauguration of Recharge Wells at Sankalchand Patel University, Gujarat, a Milestone in Environmental Conservation

Visnagar, Gujarat - July 24, 2023: Sankalchand Patel University, a pioneer in championing environmental causes, marked a momentous occasion today with the inauguration of two recharge wells on its campus. The event, graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Jitubhai Patel, the Green Ambassador of Gujarat State and Founder of Tirupati Foundation, served as a powerful platform to raise awareness among students and the wider society about pressing environmental issues.

In a world where the conservation, protection, and regulation of the environment have emerged as global priorities, Sankalchand Patel University has taken a proactive step by constructing recharge wells. These wells are designed to elevate the level of rainwater in the ground, providing an opportunity to store approximately two and a half crore liters of water.

Mr. Prakash Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University, lauded the efforts of Dr. Yogesh S. Patel, the visionary coordinator of the project. Under his guidance, the university has taken extensive steps to establish itself as a green campus, including the plantation of about 800 trees. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to fostering a sustainable and ecologically conscious environment.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Jitubhai Patel shared his motivational insights, inspiring the students to take up responsibilities towards society. He emphasized five meaningful actions that can positively impact the community, with a particular focus on tree plantation, environmental awareness, and nature conservation. Mr. Jitubhai Patel also commended President Prakash Patel for his dedication to environmental causes.

To further strengthen the impact of the event, the university collaborated with the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit to organize a mega tree plantation program. Led by NSS Coordinator Dr. Rakesh Patel and his team, this initiative promoted tree planting and raised awareness about environmental conservation.
