Sankalchand Patel University was organized Craft Demonstration Program (CDP) sponsored by Ministry of Textile, Government of India.

“Craft Demonstration Program” was organized by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the National Handicrafts Development Program (NHDC) Scheme at Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar on 14th and 15th February 2023 to raise awareness of India's grand heritage of handicrafts.

Sankalchand Patel University organized an annual festival and cultural program of “Nootan Udaan 2023” to bring out the special talents among the students in which along with a host of various programs, the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the National Handicrafts Development Program organized a craft demonstration program for the students and the residents of Visnagar. 11 famous artisans of Gujarat and students of affiliated colleges of the university were given an opportunity to get training in different types of crafts.

Samples of various handicrafts were also presented in this programme. Mr. Prakashbhai Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University was present as the Chief Guest on this occasion and he encouraged the students to participate actively in such programs. Apart from this, Hon'ble Padma Bhushan Shri Bhanubhai Chitara and University Provost Dr. Dharmesh J. Shah were present as special guests.

To make this program successful and grand, the entire organization was enthusiastically organized by the University family under the guidance of Mr. Girish Singhala, Assistant Director, Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and Dr. Maulik Shah, Dean, Faculty of Design of the University and around 3000 persons visited this craft demonstration.
