SPU Hosts 8-Day National FDP on Universal Human Values Sponsored by AICTE

The valedictory ceremony of an 8-day offline Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Universal Human Values was held on June 30, 2025, at Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering, Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar. The workshop was organized for faculty members from June 23 to 30, 2025, by the IKS Center of the university in collaboration with AICTE. The chief guests of the event, who attended virtually, were Mr. B.H. Talati, IAS, Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, and Dr. Hasmukh Patel, Chairman of GPSC and retired IPS officer. The entire event was conducted under the guidance of the Honorable President of Sankalchand Patel University, Shri Prakashbhai Patel. The valedictory session was inaugurated by Hon’ble Provost of the University Dr. Prafullkumar Udani, Director (Technical) Dr. Hetalkumar Shah, Principal Dr. Piyushkumar Patel, and AICTE representatives Dr. Yashwant Patil and Dr. Manilal Amipara. Chief guest Mr. B.H. Talati emphasized the necessity of Universal Human Values in a creative and logical manner. Dr. Hasmukh Patel highlighted the importance of implementing ethics in practice and guided faculty members on how to integrate this subject into student learning for their holistic development. Dr. Yashwant Patil, the resource person, expressed his gratitude to all participants and shared insights on how to effectively teach human values to students. Provost Dr. Prafullkumar Udani stressed the importance of understanding and cultivating human values in the modern society and provided guidance to participants from various states on working in this domain. During the ceremony, participants reflected on the personal changes they experienced during the workshop and discussed how they plan to incorporate this content into their future teaching practices. Over 100 faculty members from across India, including Gujarat, participated in this program. Local program coordinators Dr. J.J. Patel and Dr. Vikas Bhavsar, along with other staff members, contributed significantly to the successful execution of the event.
