Visnagar, March 18: Sankalchand Patel University (SPU) has signed an MOU with IBM ICE Innovation Centre of Education to enhance industry-oriented education and prepare students for evolving global demands.
The MoU aims to introduce globally aligned, industry-driven programs and advanced technological training within the university ecosystem. Under this collaboration, SPU will integrate IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE) cutting-edge curriculum, supported by a robust digital learning platform, expert mentorship, and continuous industry interaction.
As part of the initiative, SPU will offer specialized programs, including B. Tech in AI, ML & DS, and AI powered Cloud and DevOps.
The collaboration will emphasize case-based learning, real-time projects, and internships, ensuring students gain practical exposure and become industry-ready. The initiative will also be strengthened through Student Development Programs (SDP), workshops, and mentorship by IBM experts.
The MoU was formally signed by MR. Jagadisha Bhat, Country Manager, Technology Expert Labs, IBM India Private Limited, and Shri Prakashbhai Patel, President, Sankalchand Patel University, in the presence of Mr. Hari, Operations Head – Western Region, IBM, and Dr. Chetan Choudhary, Director – IQAC, Sankalchand Patel University.
The signing ceremony marked a significant milestone in strengthening industry-academia collaboration and reflects a shared commitment to delivering industry-aligned, future-ready education.
SPU has already developed Centres of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence with NVIDIA for practical exposure, and advanced learning support.
University officials stated that this MoU reinforces SPU’s commitment to delivering quality, skill-based education and preparing students to meet evolving global industry demands.
With this initiative, SPU continues to position itself as a forward-looking institution focused on innovation, employability, and future-ready education.
