Theater Workshop was organized on 13th and 14th September, 2021 at Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar by the Faculty of Management Studies with the objective of developing the confidence and art of expression of MBA students. The workshop was moderated by renowned author, director and mentor Mr. Kabir Thakore. Mr. Kabir Thakore has more than 30 years of experience in theater and is a well known name in the theater circuit of Gujarat.
The title of the workshop was 'Theater Therapy for Future Managers'. Shree Prakashbhai Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University and Dr. J.R. Patel provided special guidance and encouragement of innovative educational practices as per the New Education Policy for the holistic development of students. Dr. D. J. Shah, Director of Technical Courses and Principal, Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering was present as the Chief Guest and spoke about the similarities between management and theater. The Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies That Dr. J. K. Sharma spoke in detail about the objectives of the two-day workshop.
The workshop was attended by 107 students from MBA and IMBA courses. On the first day of the workshop, students were explained in detail about warm-up exercises, group development techniques and body language. In addition, the workshop focused on developing the students' ability to speak in public by understanding the audience. On the second day of the workshop, various exercises were done to bring the students out of their comfort zone. The workshop was successful in boosting the confidence of the students. The workshop played a special role in bringing students out of the comfort zone and seeing and experiencing the world differently. The students responded positively after the workshop and the effect was clearly seen on the faces of the students and in their confidence.
