A three-day offline Introductory Faculty Development Programme on Universal Human Values for the faculty members of the university during January 11–13, 2024 was organized by Sankalchand Patel College of Engineering, Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, Gujarat. The programme was inaugurated by the Hon'ble President of the Sankalchand Patel University, Mr. Prakash Patel Sir, Provost Prof. (Dr.) Prafulkumar Udani Sir, and Director Technical and Principal of the college, Dr. H.N. Shah Sir, with the representatives from AICTE, Dr. Ela Dedhia, Dr. Manilal Amipara, and Prof. Kinjal Vora together. Delivering his Presidential remarks, Prakash Sir stressed the need and requirement of this course as it is an integral part of the National Education Policy, 2020. He highlighted the importance of the efforts being made to impart human values in the youth of the society. He stressed the significant role that teachers have to play in attainment of the objectives of NEP 2020. Dr. Jayesh Patel Sir, Coordinator of Faculty Development Program, welcomed the invited dignitaries and the participants. The dignitaries and invited guests were felicitated with bouquets and shawls. and Dr. Ela Dedhia, Resource Person and Dr. Manilal Amipara, Co-facilitator who are for conducting this workshop have been specially chosen by AICTE for this purpose. Addressing the audience, they stressed the need for understanding and inculcation of human values in modern society. Prof. Kinjal Vora, the observer for the event has been appointed by AICTE to ensure smooth and effective organization of the workshop. The workshop will deliberate on the understanding of Human Values in the modern context and will focus on ways to instill them in the students and young generation.
