The celebration of "World No Tobacco" week started on May 25 at 10.00 am at the auditorium of Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College and Hospital affiliated to Sankalchand Patel University with the University anthem. After that, The inaugural function was graced by the special guest in this program was the Chief District Health Officer of Mehsana, Dr. Vishnubhai Patel (CDHO), Jayeshbhai Kansara, Provost of the University and Dean of Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College Dr. J R Patel, Director Medical College Dr. Bharatbhai Shah, Associate Dean of Narsinhbhai Patel Dental College Dr. Vilas Patel and Head of Public Health Dentistry Dr. Ipsita Menon. The program was opened by a welcome address by Dr. Ipsita Menon, Head of the Department of Public Health. After that Jayeshbhai Kansara and his organization talked about the efforts made to get rid of tobacco habit. In addition, Dr. Vishnubhai Patel (CDHO) explained to the patients about the types of tobacco and its smoke, the bad effects of tobacco and how to get rid of the bad habit of tobacco. He gave a speech about it and finally the whole program ended with the national anthem. The entire program was organized under the guidance of Shri Prakashbhai Patel, President of Sankalchand Patel University.
